Prof. Xia, born in December 1980, is the Dean of School of Materials and Chemistry, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). He was awarded the chief scientist of 973 Program by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2014. He won the “National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars” in 2015 and the “Fork Ying-Tong Educational Foundation for Young Teachers in the Higher Education Institutions of China” in 2016. Prof. Xia mainly focuses on the study of biosensors, responsive nanochannels, surface wettability and early clinical detection of cancer cells involving the development of a variety of responsive nucleic acid probes, researching the relationship between the structure and performance of nanopore materials, the construction of related devices for early detection of cancer and exploring the application of nucleic acid probe materials in the field of biomolecular computing and so on. In the last five years, Prof. Xia has published more than 60 academic papers as the first author or communication author in Chem. Rev., Chem. Soc. Rev., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. etc.
